Thornaby Green is the historic Village area of Thornaby with the 11th century St. Peters Church at its centre. The green is split into 3 sections, Upper Green, Village Green and Lower Green.
The Upper Green has a tree lined lane running through it and there are houses dating back to the late 1600`s.
The Village Green has the church at its begining with long rolling green spaces, it is said that Cromwell based his troops there when attacking Stockton Castle.
The Lower Green is the smallest and hosts the Old Thornaby Social Club and entrances to the river banks and allotments.
